About
My practice engages archaeology and history as structured systems of knowledge; mechanisms through which societies document, organise, and legitimise experience over time.

I am particularly concerned with the recurring failure to act upon historical precedent, even where archives, institutions, and records are well established. Political conflict, economic instability, and social dislocation often result not from insufficient information, but from institutional and cultural processes of selective forgetting.
Working through a methodical practice of repetitive mark-making, I produce surfaces that function as visual archives. Each mark operates as a unit of record, indexing time, memory, and collective action. The grid serves as a reference to archaeological mapping and archival classification, while variations in colour and density disrupt this apparent order. These moments of instability mirror historical cycles in which systems of governance and social coherence are periodically tested and reconfigured.

The works require slow and considered engagement. From a distance, they suggest coherence and continuity; on closer inspection, fractures and tensions emerge. This oscillation reflects the construction of historical narratives themselves, assembled through selection, interpretation, and omission. By employing repetition as both method and meaning, my practice underscores the ethical necessity of sustained historical attention as a foundation for more responsible decision-making in the present.
